The Stardust Girl

Monday, March 24, 2014

I don't quite understand what I'm doing here.

I flew into this world with the dusty remains of a fallen star
The only way you would know is if you connected the dots in my freckles
Within the constellations, you would find my story.

I'm not quite sure where I'm going.
I travel with the stampede of wild horses on my heels, showering them with dirt as though it were rain
There are so many questions ringing in my head; ranging from rational to indescribable
But when I run with the horses, there are no thoughts
They don't see me as an other;
They run with me as an equal.

And so I run; one disgruntled stardust girl
Away from the ensured safety of the light
Straight into the lion's den.

The raindrops of liquid darkness fall around me
Enveloping me with a cloak of lies
As I try to hide
Within myself.

One little stardust girl.
